If I was better
I would be
the beauty
on the edge of serenity,
the one who sought
perfection,
instead of this vile,
shallow monster
who seeks comfort with
faintly framed victories.

I love how this provokes my soul. There are those who do not even contemplate the sorry estate of their being for fear of discovering the truth about themselves. More glory awaits a soberly reflective monster than a glitzy angelic being sitting serenely on the edge of tinsel. Give me a thoughtful monster and I will show you a Queen.
